Genasys is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company’s IT infrastructure, with a focus on transitioning to a cloud-based environment using Microsoft Entra. This role requires a deep understanding of system administration, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity best practices. Additionally, the candidate must be well-versed in compliance standards such as SOX, SOC 2, and CMMC, as our IT department is heavily focused on security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Transition: Lead the migration of virtual machines to the cloud and oversee the transition to a pure cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Entra.
- System Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and other IT infrastructure components.
- Network Administration: Manage and monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure network security and availability.
- Security: Implement and maintain security protocols, conduct regular security audits, and respond to security incidents. Ensure compliance with SOX, SOC 2, and CMMC standards.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance.
- User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, resolve IT-related issues, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members, departments, and external vendors to ensure seamless IT operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in system administration, network management, and IT support.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or similar.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Microsoft Entra: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra infrastructure and cloud services.
- Compliance: Knowledge and experience with SOX, SOC 2, and CMMC compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and methodologies.
